You have put me through hell and back but I am grateful for all the lessons learned.

I lost love ones, "friends", Money, Love etc.. You name it 2013 took it, But it never took away my faith in God and I know everything happens for a reason.

So I WELCOME you 2014 with open arms, open mind and a open heart!

I am ready for my life to take the course it is suppose to take.

New Career Path At 31??

A new year is about to start and I will be turning 32 pretty soon after. I have been a pawnbroker/jeweler for the past 10 years of my life. It is basically all I know at the moment. But honestly I don't love it anymore I want to venture out into something new. Just don't have any idea of what exactly yet. I love clothes makeup fashion really anything beauty related. Would love to go into something into that part of the world but its difficult when you have no idea where to start or what to do. I haven't been in school in over 10 years. So just the thought of that makes me anxious. Especially since for the past year I have the attention span of a goldfish. I don't think I can make it sitting for hours at school with out loosing my mind.

 

Have any of you guys made a big change in your careers? How did you go about it? Any tips or advice. They are all welcomed here. My blog is a open canvas for every ones thoughts.

Glossy Box December 2013

Glossy box is a monthly Beauty subscription box that offers 5 luxury products. That you may love to try out that you wont regularly like to pick up on a regular basis. The cost of the box is $21. You can earn points by referring friends and reviewing the products you receive in your box to go towards future box purchases.

 

It comes in a Grey and pink box.

 

When you open the box, there is a pretty pink box that is reusable to store items or use as a gift box.

 

 

 

When you first open the box you will find a note care epxplaining all the products inside, it is wrapped in tissue paper and a nice ribbon .

 

 

 

First product in the box is a Anatomicals Shower Gel. A Full size is $5.50 for 10fl oz. It smells lovely, like a bouquet or roses.  Description says its a mix of Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Rose and Jasmine scents.

 

 

Ardency Inn Punker Eyeliner Full Price is $19 for a .85 oz . It is a felt tip eyeliner pen. The pen is pretty chunky, which I kind of did not like it.  It was a little hard making a straight line across my eye

 

         

 

 

Michael Todd True Organics Pumpkin mask Full size is $34 for a 3.4fl oz. I have not tried this one yet but it says it dissolves impurities like dead skin and clogged pores, which improves fine lines and wrinkles right after one use. 1 use? really ?  I must start using this right after this post is up lol. I have tried another one their mask from a previous box. It was pretty good, didn't keep up with it so couldn't give you a full review. But it did smell amazing and left my skin feeling pretty soft.

 

 

 

Nails Inc Nail Polish for a fiull size is $9.50. I received the color Victoria, which is a burgundy/Ox Blood color. That I love wearing especially for the holidays. Nails Inc at the moment does not have a USA site but are in the works of making one, But you can still order their polishes at Sephora which are having a MAJOR SALE going on at the moment.

 

Naobay Oxygenating Cream Moisturizing Full size is $44 for a 1.7 Fl oz. This brand comes in from the UK. It says it is based with essential oils such as rose hip and sweet almond. It is suppose to keep the surface of your skin fresh and balanced.

The Night after Christmas..

Is it just me or did this Christmas just sneak up on us? Did it come and go as fast for you as it did for me? I am kind of sad it is all over. I love the holiday season  so for it to come to such an abrupt stop for me it is kind of depressing.

 

My Christmas was actually very good. Spent the time with my family opening gifts

This is what it mainly consisted of... For those that don't know me I don't have children yet but my niece and nephews are  my world.

Plus size Barbie.. Yay or Nay?

Their has been a lot of talk in the media and social networks about a Plus Size Barbie that may be released.
By looks of the doll I don't think the body is bad but the face is another story. Their is a lot of plus size people/models that have that body type but not the double chin. Reality is obesity is a major problem in the USA. Including myself being one of those people. It great to make sure your child is confident in their looks, but do you guys think this Barbie is a bad example or it is something you look forward buying your child?
My opinion is torn.. I like that the Barbie displays a different body type,  growing up as a over weight child sometimes was the butt of jokes but the strong character I had never let it get to me. On the other it makes me think that it is saying it is OK for you to be over weight. Being over weight does lead to health issues in the future. Which it is easy to prevent with a healthy lifestyle.

My questions to the parents, especially if your child is over weight. Would you buy this doll for your child? What do you think of it?

So to the advice I received from a friend on Instagram, I decided to go back and exchange the Candy apple candle that I had and a few others I had duplicates of. The cashier was very nice and exchanged them for me with no hassle . These are the ones I decided to pick up.

InJustice in our Prison Systems.

This is something personal and dear to my heart, Later in a future post I will explain why. I would love and appreciate if the word can spread.

 

We all know someone who is lost in the system due to unfair sentencing. The Federal system has mandatory sentencing which forces inmates to take sentencing that is injustice and unfair! Someone may be sentenced to 15-25 years for a small amount of illegal substance. While a murderer or pedophile can walk away with in 5-10 years. If this isn't wrong I don't know what is. Please read the info below. Do you know or have anyone in the system?

 

This week on cnn President OBAMA voiced  his opinion on federal mandatory minimum sentences for crack cocaine laws and how unjust and harsh these laws are. Majority of people affected by these laws are minority's including African Americans and Hispanics. Mass majority of government officials such as senators are against these laws which they see unfair.

Early in the year 10,000 letters where sent to the U.S. Sentencing Commission requesting that it make some serious changes to the Guidelines. In response to the letters, the Commission agreed to take a look at adopting certain amendments. The commission will announce its plans for 2014 most likely in march.

Similar to how we did with the letters Commission , we need to do it again.. This time < we are going to make our voices heard  in Congress. This is how the campaign will work.

Sample Boxes and New to the Bloging world.

Bath and Body works

Those that follow me on instagram and know me personally know I am addicted to Bath and Body works candles. I love to collect them especially the Holiday ones.
So far these are the ones I have collected this holiday season.

To be Honest I was kind of disappointed with them, Not the candles but the delivery from UPS, They were not ringing my bell so I literally  had to wait for them in front of my home to get my box. Than a lot of my candles were broken and out of place in the jars which made them look so dirty and messy. I called BBW and spoke with a very nice lady at customer service who replaced my candles with no hassle. These were the ones that were sent the second time around.

 

 

This year my favorites have been so far 'Tis The Season and Sparkling Icicle

 

Tis the Season  smells Like peppermint, Pine with a hint of cinnamon. I am not a fan of cinnamon but this one is bearable cause its not a strong over powering scent.

 

 

Sparkling Icicles has a clean soft scent, Not like clean laundry but a fresh scent that's hard for me to explain.

 

I had only one major disappointment with one of the candles. Which was a huge surprise to me since it smelled amazing in the jar. Big thumbs down goes to Winter Candy Apple.

 

But thanks to one of my lovely friends on Instagram I was told I can return it with no hassles, which I will be doing Tuesday, Yes on Christmas eve, I will be around BBW on the 24th so just going to take advantage of it and take it back. With another one that was given to me as a gift that completely shattered.

Went to target today to finish some Christmas shopping.. Are you guys don't with yours?

I was looking for these pens that I have seen all over instagram and cute stationary items.

 

Found a few cute things but was actually on the hunt for these pens in the Beige and gold polka dots, but NO LUCK! Found these after some major digging. Not satisfied I put up a SOS on my instagram. To see if anyone of my pals was able to track them down for me. I must sound like a mad women searching for pens lol. But small things like this make me happy, especially when they are just a dollar, yes you read right just $1.

 

I also wanted some throw that were on sale a few weeks back for $17. I figured they would be at regular price. Which I think are between $30-$40 bucks. I really didn't want to pay that price but they were so pretty I needed one, And to  my surprise I found  a good amount of stock .

But to my luck they were on sale for $17.48 !!! What!! So you know I had to take one. I took the light grey leopard print. While walking around Target I spotted this beauty and for the same price.

WHAT!?!?! Major score in my book! Haha. I told a friend of mine I know I am getting old when I leave Target with just a throw and pens and be completely satisfied with shopping. Whoever knows me I am a shopping addict. Especially at Target.

 

Well guys this was my highlight of my Friday night.. Going to spend the rest of it wrapping gifts while watching Christmas movies. 4 days to go. Is it just me or Christmas is creeping up on us extremely fast.
